We have been serving our local community for over 20 years by aiding the growth of dancers and their passion for the arts. Check out what some of our students and parents have had to say about their experience at Nupoor Dances.
"My daughter Meenu has been part of Nupoor Dances since she was 10 years old. The reason why I chose Nupoor Dances is because I wanted my daughter to learn the many Bollywood techniques and also be part of a stage production.
Meenu is now 18 years old and the dance journey with Nupoor has been fun, enriching, and every production has been exciting!
My daughter was also chosen to be a TA.
Meenu says: “Teaching has been fun as much as performing! Also let’s not forget, it’s very rewarding!”
"Both of my daughters have been part of the Nupoor family for the past 7 years. It's been a rewarding experience, and I have ONLY positive things to say. All the credit goes to the lady behind the Nupoor facade, Sonal, or to the kids, their dearest 'Soanl Aunty'.
My girls have learned and danced to a variety of folk flavors, bollywood, contemporary and even some pop songs. Sonal is extremely talented and super passionate about what she does. She is very organized and extremely hardworking. Her quality of work speaks for all that I mentioned.
We eagerly look forward to the Nupoor showcase in the fall every year. It’s a masterpiece that we never miss to attend and is enjoyed by everyone. The competitive, spring session allows the girls to showcase their talent and effort to be judged across the bay area without forgetting to have fun on the stage and putting their best foot forward.
This positive approach makes Nupoor win so many awards in all the competitions. Did I say that Sonal's RAAS is THE BEST?! You have to watch it to see it for yourself.
Thank you Sonal for being part of my girls' lives and being a huge positive influence on all of us."
"My daughter Riya has been going to Nupoor Dances for the past seven years and I’ve seen a major improvement in her dance moves and confidence.
Her teacher, Sonal is awesome and gives personalized attentional to each and every student. The TA’s are extremely focused and enthusiastic as well."
"My daughter has been dancing with Nupoor for almost 8 years now. Ms. Sonal has been such an amazing teacher and has taught the kids so well. I’ve been able to see my daughter grow as a dancer because of her.
Ms. Sonal is so committed and dedicated to the kids giving their best performance. My daughter is having a wonderful experience with Ms. Sonal and I’m excited to see what’s to come in the future."
"I’ve been dancing with Nupoor for almost 8 years now. Throughout the years I’ve been able covered so many styles of dance from garba to raas, contemporary, and even hip hop. I’ve had so much fun exploring my passion for dance and it’s truly something that brings me joy.
Sonal Auntie is also such an amazing teacher and is so much fun. She does beautiful choreography and incorporates so many steps in her dances. I with definitely be continuing learning with Nupoor Dances for many years to come."
"My Daughter started her dance journey at 5 yrs. of age under the tutelage of Sonal Sanghvi (Director and Founder of Nupoor Dances) I have seen her grow into a confident, beautiful, graceful dancer all thanks to the coaching, encouragement and training with Sonal.
Sonal played a key role in introducing various dance forms like Indian folk, Bollywood, Hip-Hop, Latin dance etc. She is not only an amazing teacher but an excellent role model for her students. She is always hands-on with all her students and strives to bring out the very best in them. Her attention to detail is commendable in all aspects of her Academy starting with the success of her students, to communicating with the parents regarding their kids’ progress, to the amazing shows to showcase her students.
Her passion and dedication also comes across in the various competitions and shows around the bay area which are a tremendous success because of her amazing choreography, costumes and sets. Nupoor Dances is not just a dance class but a family. My daughter, 12 years later, will carry her love for dance and her love for Sonal Aunty through the rest of her life."
